The war on drugs in our neighboring country to the south has seen an inconceivable epidemic rise of human casualties in the last six years. Matías Gueilburt’s film captures the tragic rise of violence by giving the families of the missing and murdered people a medium through which their grieving voices may be heard. The testimonies are devastating, as we see families dissolve in front of our eyes. Towns have emptied, the amount of guns in Mexico is on the rise; everyday life has become a day-to-day survival of the fittest.
